Loading Dock Safety
Industry data + safety equipment considerations. Start with the complete operation, not a single product.
Where equipment can support the safety program
1Vehicle restraints: help control trailer movement during loading and unloading.
2Dock barriers: help protect exposed dock positions and open-edge hazards.
3Communication + controls: help make dock and trailer status visible to operators.
Safety is a system.
A comprehensive loading dock safety program combines the right equipment with employee training, operating procedures, inspection and maintenance. Safety equipment can help reduce hazards and support more consistent operating practices, but equipment alone does not establish regulatory compliance.
Series 2 of 5
Vehicle Restraints
Safer, more consistent dock operations. Help manage trailer movement while communication lights, controls and optional integrations make dock status clearer.

CONTROL
Help manage trailer movement and support a stable dock-to-trailer interface.
COMMUNICATE
Status lights, audible cues and displays can improve coordination.
STANDARDIZE
Configured controls and interlocks can reinforce a repeatable sequence.

Series 3 of 5
Safety Barriers & Fall Protection
Build safer separation at the dock. Purpose-built barriers can help define protected areas, improve visibility and support consistent operating practices.
OSHA fall-protection consideration
OSHA 1910.28 generally requires fall protection at many unprotected sides or edges 4 feet or more above a lower level, subject to stated exceptions. Where a guardrail system is used, 1910.29 generally specifies a top edge of 42 in ± 3 in, plus intermediate-member and strength criteria.

Barrier selection should reflect the application, traffic patterns and operating conditions.
Series 4 of 5
Keep cold air in. Keep warm air out. Properly selected and fitted dock seals and shelters can help limit air exchange, support temperature consistency and protect the dock environment.

See the loading dock as a complete system.
A system-based approach helps dealers and facility teams evaluate how vehicle control, communication, dock-position protection and environmental control work together. The conversation stays focused on the facility's complete loading-dock operation rather than a single piece of equipment.
